Before I advised families, I worked inside the process I'm now helping you navigate.
At Stanford I was Director of Operations and goalkeeper coach for the men's soccer program. At San Jose State I was First Assistant Coach and goalkeeper coach, also on the men's side. Two Division I programs with vastly different recruiting needs.
As the first assistant, I evaluated players and aided heavily in the recruitment and onboarding process. As Director of Operations, I ran the machinery underneath it. I handled the visits, the compliance paperwork, the recruiting board, and the inbox. I saw how fast a spot closes, and how many capable players get passed over for reasons that have nothing to do with their ability on the field.
